5 Asanas every woman should practice!

Yoga is a century-old trusted method of rejuvenating and connecting your body with your soul. It is said to be helpful for everyone. It is especially considered helpful for women, dealing with several health problems – from hormonal imbalance to post-pregnancy stress. There are some asanas which also help in relieving pain and body aches.

Let us look at some of these Asanas which can be beneficial:

  1.  Shishuasana– One of the best and easiest yoga poses, also known as the child’s pose. Practicing this pose is all you need to release all that stubborn stress. It is a gem to obtain a stress-free life.

How to perform- 

  • Kneel on the floor with your toes together
  • Inhale as you bend forward putting your torso in between your thighs, facing the ground
  • Relaxing, touch the ground slowly and free up your body
  1. Malasana– This asana is also known as the garland pose. It helps in regulating the menstrual cycle, making your thighs and groin muscles strong and relieving tension from the neck and thigh region. 

How to perform-

  • With your feet slightly apart, stand on a mat
  • Slowly bend in a squat position
  • Bring your palms together in a Namaskar pose joining the elbow with your inner knees and stretching it slightly

  1. Utkata Konasana– This asana is said to resemble the poses of several goddesses which is why it is known as the “goddess pose”. It helps a pregnant woman as it prepares them to give natural birth. It stretches pelvic muscles, making them stronger to handle childbirth efficiently. 

How to perform- 

  • Stand on a mat with your legs apart
  • Keeping your hands straight and stretched, get into a squatting position
  1. Navasana– This asana is a go-to for all those busy women who can’t seem to make time out of their schedule. It is also known as the boat pose. It is helpful for women going through PCOS. It is also good for strengthening several body parts including the thyroid gland, thereby regulating TSH secretion. It elongates the spine and thigh bone. It tones abs and thigh muscles instantly.

How to perform- 

  • Make a right angle between the legs and upper body while sitting on your buttocks
  • Make sure to maintain your balance while your legs are in the air
  1. Halasana– It is extremely helpful in stretching your whole body. Known as the plough pose. It is great for your gut health which helps you in maintaining your weight. It also maintains a healthy metabolism. It might be a little complicated to perform at first but you can excel at it with practice.

How to perform- 

  • Relax and free your body parts while lying on a mat
  • Slightly raising your feet, bring them in the air
  • Push back your toes behind the head with the shoulders, neck, and head on the ground, use your hand for the same
  • Clasp your hand firmly on the mat

Yoga has been proven to relieve physical and mental health for generations. These asanas, if practiced regularly, can show tremendous results for women in particular. Including these asanas in your everyday routine will be a transformative step. So, take a step towards a life that is healthier and happier!
