Cultivating her locks since the age of 14, Srivastava’s hair spans an incredible 236.22 cm (7 feet 9 inches). Inspired by her mother and attributing her lengthy tresses to her genetic heritage, Srivastava’s accomplishment reflects the cultural significance of long hair in Indian traditions.
Delving into the cultural context, Srivastava notes the association of goddesses with long hair in Indian traditions, where cutting hair is considered inauspicious, emphasizing the belief that long hair enhances women’s beauty. Despite the challenges posed by the extensive length, Srivastava maintains her hair with dedication, adhering to a routine that involves washing, drying, detangling, and styling, consuming up to three hours each time, twice a week.

This feat follows another record set in Uttar Pradesh, where a 15-year-old Sikh boy secured the world record for the longest hair on a male teenager. In his Guinness World Records video, the teenager, Chahal, proudly shared the admiration his voluminous and lengthy hair garnered, measuring an impressive 130 cm (four feet and three inches).
