Iqbal Ansari, a former litigant in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid case, has been extended an invitation to the upcoming consecration ceremony of the Ram temple on January 22, according to his daughter, Shama Parveen. The invitation was personally delivered to Ansari at his residence in Kotia Panjitola near the Ram Path.
Ansari, who previously expressed the Muslim community’s respect for the 2019 Supreme Court verdict on the Ram temple issue, has received attention for showering flowers on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s motorcade during a recent roadshow in Ayodhya. His father, the oldest litigant in the Ayodhya land dispute case, passed away in 2016, prompting Iqbal Ansari to pursue the case.
More than a lakh devotees are expected to attend the ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony, with around 7,000 guests invited from India and abroad. The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has sent out over 6,000 invitation cards for the grand consecration ceremony of ‘Ram Lalla.’
Several prominent figures, including actors Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, Anupam Kher, Rajinikanth, and Akshay Kumar, along with directors Rajkumar Hirani, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Rohit Shetty, and producer Mahaveer Jain, have been invited to the event. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Ram Mandir, and the temple trust has advised devotees to avoid traveling to Ayodhya on the day of the consecration ceremony.
