Early Monsoon Brings Relief –
The Indian Meteorological Department said there will be continued rain until June 5. Early monsoon arrival
offers hope for a better agricultural season than last year’s drought-hit conditions. Additional rainfall is also expected on June 8th and 9th. Heavy Rain Causes Chaos –
The Silicon Valley of India faced Heavy traffic jams on major roads, including those connecting to the Kempegowda International Airport. The control room received numerous calls informing about heavy rain, prompting urgent action from traffic police and the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).
They worked together to clear fallen trees and standing water from various places, addressing the issues caused by the heavy rainfall.
Traffic congestion was also noted on the Bengaluru-Mysuru expressway and at various junctions across the city, further worsening the situation. The heavy rainfall also led to several disruptions, but efforts were made to restore normal situation as quickly as possible.
