The state government has given a big gift to the police personnel of the state on the eve of Independence Day. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has announced a fund of Rs 550 crore for police personnel. The government has accepted the recommendations of the committee formed by the state government and decided to increase the salary. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel tweeted about this. Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi held a meeting with the CM after which the decision was taken, and the CM himself announced it.
After the Chief Minister’s announcement, there was a feeling of joy in the police station again. Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi expressed happiness by feeding sweets to the police personnel. So the policemen of Surat, Vadodara, Gandhinagar expressed their happiness by playing garba and bursting firecrackers.
Importantly, this is the highest allowance hike announcement since independence. At the time of the announcement, Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi was on a visit to Surat and attended the program at the Police Commissioner’s office. Where the police personnel celebrated with the family.
The opposition termed this decision taken in the interest of the policemen as an election-oriented decision and said that the government has only given lollipops to the policemen, not fulfilling their grade-pay demands.
