‘Cong govt sold papers for all exams’: PM Modi’s big charge in poll-bound Rajasthan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a rally in Kota, criticized the Congress government in Rajasthan led by Ashok Gehlot, focusing on the issue of paper leaks. Modi assured the public that if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) comes to power in the state, stringent action will be taken against those responsible for the paper leaks.

Modi highlighted the significance of Kota as an educational hub, drawing students from across the country. He accused the Congress party of shattering the aspirations of the youth over the past five years, alleging that they were involved in selling question papers for various exams. The prime minister emphatically pledged that individuals implicated in the paper leaks would be prosecuted, emphasizing this as a guarantee under his leadership.

Expressing what he described as “intense anger” among the people of Rajasthan towards the Gehlot government, Modi asserted that the state’s residents desired liberation from the Congress. He claimed that anger was pervasive among various segments of the population, including youth, women, farmers, traders, businessmen, and shopkeepers. According to Modi, these groups were united in their aspiration for a Congress-free Rajasthan and, by extension, a Congress-free India

The prime minister’s remarks were delivered in the context of the upcoming assembly elections in Rajasthan, scheduled for November 25, with the counting of votes set for December 3. In 2013, the BJP secured 163 seats in the legislative assembly elections, leading to the formation of the government. However, in the subsequent 2018 elections, the Congress won 100 seats, while the BJP obtained 73 seats in the 200-member House. Ultimately, Ashok Gehlot assumed the role of Chief Minister with the support of BSP MLAs and Independents.

As the political landscape in Rajasthan gears up for the impending elections, Modi’s statements underscore the BJP’s commitment to addressing concerns such as the alleged paper leaks and resonate with the party’s objective of securing a victory in the state.
