The fifth case of Omicron, which has created havoc in the world, has been reported in Gujarat. Asha worker of Mehsana’s Bijapur has been infected with Omicron variant, causing a stir in the health department.

Five positive cases of Omicron variant have been reported in Gujarat instead of one or two. Even after intensive checks at the airport, Omicron has set foot in Gujarat. Today again, Pilwai Asha worker of Bijapur came Omicron positive and shifted to Vadnagar for treatment. Investigation by the health department has revealed that Ashawarkar’s sister’s son and son had come to India from Zimbabwe after her husband passed away. But even though both of them have been tested three times, they have come back negative. The health system has been left in a quandary as to where the Asha worker got the Omicron after the Ben-Banevi from Zimbabwe came back negative.

It is worth mentioning that wards have been set up in most of the government hospitals of the state on Omicron issue. But vigilance is very necessary.
