In the run chase, the South African team scored 169 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. Hardik Pandya took 3 wickets. Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh took 2 wickets each. Henrik Klaasen scored 52 runs off 27 balls while de Kock scored 39 runs off 31 balls. Tristan Stubbs contributed 31 runs off 21 balls and Miller contributed 21 runs off 17 balls.

Virat Kohli announced his retirement from T20 international cricket, saying, “This was my last match for Team India in T20. Now is the time for the next generation to take over.”
