The news was confirmed by her nephew, Ajay Sayal, who revealed that she died from a heart attack at 8:30 pm in Amritsar’s Parvati Devi Hospital, where she was undergoing treatment. Kavita had been battling cancer for several years.

He shared that they, along with other notable actors like Satish Kaushik, Anupam Kher, and Govind Namdev, studied together at NSD. Desai learned of her demise in the morning and described it as a sad moment.

Close friend Suchitra Verma disclosed that Kavita had been struggling with cancer for an extended period. During their last meeting a year ago, Kavita was visibly in pain while undergoing chemotherapy. Suchitra, expressing regret at not having the chance to meet Kavita again, emphasized the sudden deterioration of her condition.

Anang Desai mentioned that Kavita had battled cancer a few years ago, and although they had met since then, she preferred to keep her health issues private. Originally from Amritsar, Kavita Chaudhary passed away there. Desai recalled speaking to her about fifteen days prior when she was in Mumbai and not keeping well.

Suchitra Verma paid a heartfelt tribute to Kavita on Instagram, describing her as a beacon of strength, inspiration, and grace. She acknowledged Kavita as the face of the “Udaan” series and the iconic ‘Surf’ commercial for those who grew up in the 70s and 80s. Beyond her on-screen persona, Suchitra emphasized that Kavita lived and breathed women empowerment, inspiring countless women to pursue their dreams, especially in the Indian Police Services. Suchitra believes that Kavita’s legacy of empowerment will endure for generations to come.
