A recent Twitter post has brought attention to bizarre online shopping experiences, shedding light on instances where customers received unexpected items instead of their ordered products. One user, Yash Ojha, took to the microblogging platform to share a peculiar incident involving an Amazon purchase. Ojha had ordered Sony XB910N Wireless headphones priced at ₹19,900 but was astonished to find a Colgate toothpaste in the delivered package.

In a video shared on Twitter, Ojha captured the unboxing of the Amazon delivery and humorously wrote, “Well, I ordered Sony xb910n and got Colgate lmafao.” The post quickly gained traction, prompting a response from Amazon.

Amazon, in response to Ojha’s complaint, expressed their apologies for the mix-up. They urged Ojha to update his direct message (DM) settings and reach out to them via DM to address the issue further. Additionally, Amazon cautioned against sharing order/account details over DM, considering them as personal information.

This incident is not isolated, as another Twitter user, Arun Kumar Meher, shared a similar disconcerting experience. Meher had ordered a Sigma 24-70 f 2.8 lens worth ₹90,000 from Amazon. However, upon receiving the package the next day, he discovered a shocking twist—the box had already been opened, and instead of the camera lens, it contained quinoa seeds.

Expressing his frustration, Meher called it a “big scam” and accused Amazon and Appario Retail of deceptive practices. He posted, “Ordered a 90K INR Camera lens from Amazon, they have sent a lens box with a packet of quinoa seeds inside instead of the lens. Big scam by @amazonIN and Appario Retail. The lens box was also opened. Solve it asap,” accompanied by images of the seeds packaged inside the lens box.

These incidents underscore the challenges and unexpected pitfalls of online shopping, where customers occasionally find themselves at the mercy of errors or, in some cases, fraudulent activities. As e-commerce platforms continue to address such issues, consumers are reminded to stay vigilant, report discrepancies promptly, and follow proper channels for resolution. The power of social media platforms, as demonstrated by these tweets, remains a potent tool for customers to voice their concerns and seek resolution for their online shopping grievances.
