Renowned fashion maestro Sabyasachi Mukherjee etched his name in history books as the first Indian designer to grace the illustrious Met Gala carpet. Stepping onto the fashion extravaganza on Tuesday, May 7, Sabyasachi exuded elegance in a meticulously crafted long coat paired with exquisite jewels from his own Sabyasachi High Jewellery collection.
Taking to social media, the designer shared snapshots of his ensemble, elaborating on the intricate details, “An embroidered cotton duster coat from the Sabyasachi Resort 2024 collection, adorned with a lavish array of tourmalines, pearls, emeralds, and diamonds from Sabyasachi High Jewellery.”

Not content with just attending, Sabyasachi also left his indelible mark on the event by designing a breathtaking saree for Bollywood luminary Alia Bhatt. Alia, radiant in the floral masterpiece, revealed that the saree was a labor of love, meticulously crafted by 163 artisans over a staggering 1,965 hours. Her ensemble perfectly encapsulated the event’s theme, ‘The Garden of Time’, earning her accolades for her sartorial choice.
