Mahmud Begda came from a European country in 1511 with the intention of ruling India. He ruled Champaner, Vadodara, Junagadh, Kutch regions of Gujarat. He was very cruel and aggressive. In 1540 Begda attacked Pavagadh and broke the spire of the temple. Begda broke the peak and built the dargah of Sadanshah Pir. And this is why the flag was not hoisted on the temple. However, in 2017, the work to transform the temple was started.

The dargah was moved to another location unscathed and in a spirit of harmony. The temple was renovated at a cost of four and a half years and costing Rs 125 crores. And Mahakali Mata was given her honor back… which is seen floating in the night air in the sacred atmosphere of Pavagadh.

After hoisting the flag on the temple, the Prime Minister said that today, after a century, the flag has been hoisted once again on the peak of Pavagadh temple. This Shikhar flag is not only a symbol of our faith and spirituality but this Shikhar flag is also a symbol of the fact that generations change, ages come and go. But the pinnacle of faith is always eternal.
