Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar wished his childhood friend and former cricketer Vinod Kambli on his birthday and shared his childhood pictures with Kambli. To wish Kambli on his 50th birthday, Sachin tweeted, Happy 50th birthday to you, Happy Birthday Kambli.
Let it be known that Sachin and Kambli used to study together. The two also coached together and their coach was Ramakant Achrekar. Both of them have also played for Mumbai and Team India. He also created a record partnership of 664 runs not out during school cricket.
In the 90s, the pair of Kambli and Tedunlkar were known as the pair of Jay and Veeru, but when Sapin didn’t invite Kambli to the post-retirement party, Kabbli felt bad saying that Sachin didn’t remember his langotio friend from school.
The famous friends’ friendship fell apart when Kambli said on a TV show in July 2009 that Sachin did not help him to return to cricket. The Master Blaster was so impressed that in his retirement speech at the Wankhede Stadium after the 200th Test in 2013, he named them all but did not mention Kambli.
Sachin Tendulkar gave Kambli an opportunity to play for the Indian team in 1989. Kambli played his first international cricket match against Pakistan in 1991. Kambli played for the Indian cricket team for 10 years (2000).
