The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unveiled a new campaign song on Thursday, setting its sights on the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The promotional material features an image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi performing “dandavat pranam” (prostration) in front of the idol of Lord Ram in Ayodhya.
The campaign, titled ‘Modi ko chunte hain’ (We choose Modi), is being launched as Prime Minister Modi gears up to initiate the electoral process for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. The campaign song carries the message, “Sapne Nahi Haqeeqat Bunte Hai, Tabhi Toh Sab Modi Ko Chunte Hain” (We weave reality, not dreams; that’s why everyone chooses Modi). The lyrics emphasize the transformative changes witnessed in India under PM Modi’s leadership.
The video highlights the improvement in India’s condition, attributing it to the selection of Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister. The song suggests that Modi turned the dream of a developed nation into reality by choosing the right path. It underscores Modi’s commitment to work over fame, symbolized by the image of him prostrating before the Ram Lalla idol.
The closing moments of the video capture the iconic image of PM Modi lying prostrate in devotion after the consecration ceremony on January 22 at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The lyrics praise Modi’s dedication to Bharat (India) as his mother and depict the citizens as God. The campaign asserts that Modi’s focus on work, not just rhetoric, commands respect globally.
The song also highlights PM Modi’s initiatives for various segments of the population, the success of India’s foreign policy under his leadership, and the emergence of Indian women as leaders. It mentions the impact of Modi’s governance on corrupt individuals and his commitment to both grassroots connections and reaching for the sky, possibly referring to advancements in space exploration.
This campaign follows the launch of a similar song, ‘Phir aayega Modi’ (Modi will come again), in December 2023. The BJP is strategically leveraging such campaigns to build momentum ahead of the 2024 elections.
PM Modi is expected to address a rally in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, where he will inaugurate projects worth over ₹19,100 crore. This marks his first public rally in the state after the historic inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The BJP has planned an extensive series of events around the consecration of the Ram Temple, aiming to mobilize support for PM Modi’s rally and consolidate their position in the state.
