The three biggest cricket teams, Australia, England and India, which also should be clear favourites, secured their spots in this World Cup by finishing in the top eight of the previous ICC Twenty20 World Cup in 2022. The last date of announcing the teams for the 20 World Cup was May 1st, which means team selectors had to select players mid-IPL.
