Putin Meets North Korea’s Dictator for the First Time in Decades

Russian President Vladimir Putin received a warm welcome from North Korean leader Kim Jong Un at Pyongyang’s airport. This visit marks Putin’s first trip to the North Korean capital in more than twenty years. According to North Korean media, the two leaders openly discussed and agreed to strengthen their countries’ relationship.

Welcome of the President:

Kim Jong Un greeted Russia’s President with a handshake and seemed to have had a few words with him near his plane. After this they traveled together in a limousine to a State Guest House.

Putin arrived early in the morning for his first visit to North Korea’s capital in 24 years.
This visit has the potential to change the relationship between Russia and North Korea, as both countries currently experience isolation on the international stage. The two leaders promised to work together against the United States and strengthen their relationship, which might involve more weapons trading.

Agreements and Promises:

President Putin is the first important leader to visit North Korea since the pandemic, showing how important it is to Russia. North Korea is one of the few countries that share similar views and are capable of supplying Moscow with much-needed weapons for its conflict in Ukraine.

India, Brazil, Turkey, and other non-Western nations. This gathering highlights the changing global image of the world.

Italian PM Thoughts:

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who is hosting the meeting, said she invited more countries to “strengthen dialogue with the Global South Countries(China, India, Indonesia, Brazil, Pakistan, Nigeria, Mexico).” She emphasized that the G7 Group is “not a closed fortress” but “an offer of values we share with the world.”

Agreements from Day 1 of the Summit:

On Day 1 of the G7 summit, held from June 13 to 15 at the luxury resort of Borgo Egnazia, leaders from
Italy, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, the UK, the US, and the EU gathered. The main part of the day was a political agreement to provide $50 billion in loans to Ukraine, using interest from frozen Russian assets, in response to Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine.

Focus on Non-Western Leaders:

Much Attention was on leaders like Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of Brazil. This fact shows that the West is no longer as dominant in the world as before and that it is paying more attention to the non-Western countries to call for fairness and balance in important decisions.

At the G7 event on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the concerns of Global South countries.
He stated that India feels responsible for bringing these issues to the world stage, noting that these nations are heavily affected by global fluctuations in the economy. Modi also mentioned India’s G20 presidency, during which the African Union became a permanent member. Additionally, he pointed out that India was among the first to create a national strategy for Artificial Intelligence.

Prime Minister Modi said the main goal of these talks is to address the world’s major challenges.
By working together with other world leaders, he aims to increase international cooperation and build a better future for everyone.
