However, there were also a couple of uninvited guests who found their way inside the wedding. Mumbai Police have arrested two people for entering the wedding without an invitation.

Legal Action On Uninvited guests

The police said that one of them, Venkatesh Narasaiya Alluri (26), is a YouTuber, and the other, Lukman Mohammad Shafi Sheikh (28), claims to be a businessman. The Mumbai Police have filed separate cases against them both. The police said the two men came from Andhra Pradesh to attend the wedding. The police released them after giving them a notice and taking legal action in both cases. The grand wedding was also attended by global celebrities, business tycoons, and politicians.

High Profile Celebrities and Politicians

Prime Minister Narendra Modi blessed the newlywed couple Anant and Radhika on Saturday. Modi went to the Ambani family-owned Jio World Convention Centre for a wedding reception called ‘Shubh Aashirwad’.

From Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, and others attended the grand wedding, which many called the “wedding of the year.”

Rajinikanth also attended with his wife Lata, daughter Soudarya, son-in-law Vishagan Vanangamudi, and grandson Veer. The Tamil actor, dressed in traditional Tamil clothes, danced to beats with Ranveer and Anil Kapoor, while the groom Anant tried to join in.

Hollywood actor and former wrestler John Cena also danced to the ‘dhol’ beats. Dressed in a powder blue kurta and white pants, John Cena delighted the Indian media from his WWE days by doing his famous gesture “You can’t see me” while dancing with other guests.

Former British Prime Ministers Tony Blair and Boris Johnson, and Saudi Aramco CEO Amin H Nasser were also guests.

Politicians who attended the wedding included Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, his deputies Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav, his wife Dimple, and Shiv Sena head Uddhav Thackeray.

The three-day Ambani wedding is the last event in a series of parties the family has hosted since March. The pre-wedding celebrations began in Jamnagar, Gujarat, featuring performances by star Rihanna and top Bollywood celebrities.

–First Phera

‍‍तीर्थव्रतोद्यापन यज्ञकर्म मया सहैव प्रियवयं कुर्या:।

वामांगमायामि तदा त्वदीयं ब्रवीति वाक्यं प्रथमं कुमारी।।

‍Meaning: In the first round, the couple attests to one another’s sustenance. Together, the bride and groom pledge to share all home chores and to put food on the table every day.

‍-Second Phera

‍‍पुज्यौ यथा स्वौ पितरौ ममापि तथेशभक्तो निजकर्म कुर्या:। वामांगमायामि तदा त्वदीयं ब्रवीति कन्या वचनं द्वितीयम ।।

‍Meaning: In the second round, the couple recognises their goodness in each other’s accomplishments. They pledge to challenge one another to advance their spiritual, mental, and physical growth. 

–Third Phera

‍जीवनम अवस्थात्रये मम पालनां कुर्या:।

वामांगंयामि तदा त्वदीयं ब्रवीति कन्या वचनं तृ्तीयं।।

‍Meaning: In the third round, the couple seek blessings from God for their financial stability. They ask for wealth and wellness from God. 

‍-Fourth Phera

‍‍कुटुम्बसंपालनसर्वकार्य कर्तु प्रतिज्ञां यदि कातं कुर्या:।

वामांगमायामि तदा त्वदीयं ब्रवीति कन्या वचनं चतुर्थं।।

Meaning: This is one of the most crucial promises in the seven promises of Saath Phere. In this, the couples vouch to shield each other in every situation and promise togetherness in times of sorrow, sickness, health, or celebration. They will stay in harmony to fight every problem together.

‍- Fifth Phera

‍‍स्वसद्यकार्ये व्यवहारकर्मण्ये व्यये मामापि मन्त्रयेथा।

वामांगमायामि तदा त्वदीयं ब्रूते वच: पंचमत्र कन्या।।

‍ Meaning: In the fifth round, the couple seek blessing for a healthy and happy family. They pray to God to bless them with children and keep the couple capable of fulfilling their family needs in every way.

‍- Sixth Phera

‍‍न मेपमानमं सविधे सखीनां द्यूतं न वा दुर्व्यसनं भंजश्चेत 

वामांगमायामि तदा त्वदीयं ब्रवीति कन्या वचनं च षष्ठम ।।

‍Meaning: In the sixth round, the couple binds to treat each other with nothing but love and respect. They vouch to be available for each other in every problem and offer help.

‍- Seventh Phera

‍‍परस्त्रियं मातृसमां समीक्ष्य स्नेहं सदा चेन्मयि कान्त कुर्या।

वामांगमायामि तदा त्वदीयं ब्रूते वच: सप्तममत्र कन्या।।

‍Meaning: In the seventh round, couples should try their best to explore the true meaning of friendship and togetherness. It will enable them to seek comfort in each other and avoid loathe moments ever.

Kaleeras are a common wedding jewelry in each of the north Indian Weddings. The long gold ornaments hanging off a bride’s wrists are hard to miss. We all are aware of the Kaleera fashion, but what’s the history behind it? 

Traditionally, the bride’s sisters and her friends tie her the Kaleera as a blessing and best wishes for her married life. Later, the bride tries to drop a Kaleera on the heads of her bridesmaids, which is again a fun ritual to be followed. On whoever, the piece of Kaleera drops that person is considered to be the next in line to get married.

Kaleeras are meant to be edible! As per Punjabi and Himachali traditions, Kaleeras in those days were made out of coconut shells, and Fox nuts as a snack for the new bride. Due to the distance between the bride’s actual home and her new home, the Kaleeras were meant to hold snacks for her in case she got hungry on the way.

Even today, the designs of Kaleeras represent the shape of the food which are traditionally tied on a bride’s wrists. Till today the top half of Kaleera looks like half a coconut, and the smaller beads represent the smaller items like fox nuts.

On the other hand, some studies also suggest that Kaleeras represented a blessing for the bride that she may never run out of food at her new house. And if she did run out of food, for any reason, she was not allowed to live with her parents again. She would have to survive in her new home for the rest of her life.
