]]> In the shooting events at the Paris Olympics, Yusuf Dikec, a Turkish air pistol shooter, made headlines by securing a silver medal in the 10-meter air pistol mixed team event. Despite the standard practice of shooters wearing specialized gear, including precision glasses and ear protection, Dikec chose to compete with minimal equipment, opting for regular prescription glasses and earplugs. His unconventional approach didn’t hinder his performance; rather, it highlighted his remarkable skill and composure.

Dikec, 51, who was competing in his fifth Olympic Games since his debut in Beijing 2008, partnered with Sevval Ilayda Tarhan to clinch second place. Their performance was nothing short of extraordinary, with Dikec rolling up to the line with one hand in his pocket and expertly aiming his pistol to secure their silver medal.

The final was fiercely contested, with Serbia’s Zorana Arunovic and Damir Mikec staging a dramatic comeback from an 8-2 deficit to win gold with a 16-14 score. The same event saw India’s Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh earn the bronze medal, rounding out a thrilling competition.
