Triptii Dimri, acclaimed for her role as Zoya in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film ‘Animal,’ has been in the limelight not only for her performance but also for the intense and controversial scenes in the movie. In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Triptii shared insights into her parents’ reaction to the intimate scene with Ranbir Kapoor and addressed the criticism surrounding the film’s portrayal of women.

The actress revealed that her parents were initially “taken aback” by the intimate scene and expressed their discomfort with the unconventional content. Triptii shared, “My parents got a little taken aback. (They said) ‘We have never seen something like this in films and you have done it.’ It took them time to get over that scene. They were very sweet to me though. They were like, ‘You shouldn’t have done that… but it’s okay. As parents, we will obviously feel this.’”

Despite the initial shock, Triptii emphasized her responsibility as an actor to bring honesty to her portrayal. She explained, “I told them I am not doing anything wrong. It’s my job, and as long as I am comfortable and safe, I don’t see any problem in that. I am an actor, and I have to be 100 percent honest with the character that I play, and I did that.”

Triptii credited director Sandeep Reddy Vanga for ensuring her comfort on set, stating that he briefed her about every scene, fostering an environment of trust. She reiterated that her approach to the role was to stay true to the character and the narrative, despite the controversial nature of certain scenes.

In one notable scene from ‘Animal,’ Ranbir Kapoor’s character, Rannvijay Singh, asks Triptii’s Zoya to lick his shoe as a test of her love. Triptii clarified that while she, as an individual, might not perform such an act, her character, Zoya, would do it due to feelings of guilt. This particular scene has sparked debates, with critics pointing to its controversial nature.

Addressing the film’s portrayal of a toxic relationship between Rannvijay and his father Balbir Singh, played by Anil Kapoor, Triptii acknowledged the controversy surrounding the movie. She noted that ‘Animal’ explores the dark and selfish sides of human nature, contributing to its thought-provoking narrative.

Despite the controversies, ‘Animal’ has marked a significant milestone in Ranbir Kapoor’s career, emerging as his highest-grossing film at the box office. The film delves into the complexities of familial relationships, featuring Bobby Deol and Rashmika Mandanna in pivotal roles.

Triptii Dimri’s revelations shed light on the challenges and discussions surrounding intimate scenes in Indian cinema, showcasing the evolving landscape of storytelling and the actors’ commitment to authenticity in their performances.
