Last weekend, Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding took place in Mumbai, drawing attention worldwide. Thousands of people gathered to watch the son of India’s richest man travel from his family’s home, Antilla, to the Jio World Convention Center for his wedding.
However, there were also a couple of uninvited guests who found their way inside the wedding. Mumbai Police have arrested two people for entering the wedding without an invitation.
Legal Action On Uninvited guests
The police said that one of them, Venkatesh Narasaiya Alluri (26), is a YouTuber, and the other, Lukman Mohammad Shafi Sheikh (28), claims to be a businessman. The Mumbai Police have filed separate cases against them both. The police said the two men came from Andhra Pradesh to attend the wedding. The police released them after giving them a notice and taking legal action in both cases. The grand wedding was also attended by global celebrities, business tycoons, and politicians.
High Profile Celebrities and Politicians
Prime Minister Narendra Modi blessed the newlywed couple Anant and Radhika on Saturday. Modi went to the Ambani family-owned Jio World Convention Centre for a wedding reception called ‘Shubh Aashirwad’.
From Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, and others attended the grand wedding, which many called the “wedding of the year.”
Rajinikanth also attended with his wife Lata, daughter Soudarya, son-in-law Vishagan Vanangamudi, and grandson Veer. The Tamil actor, dressed in traditional Tamil clothes, danced to beats with Ranveer and Anil Kapoor, while the groom Anant tried to join in.
Hollywood actor and former wrestler John Cena also danced to the ‘dhol’ beats. Dressed in a powder blue kurta and white pants, John Cena delighted the Indian media from his WWE days by doing his famous gesture “You can’t see me” while dancing with other guests.
Former British Prime Ministers Tony Blair and Boris Johnson, and Saudi Aramco CEO Amin H Nasser were also guests.
Politicians who attended the wedding included Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, his deputies Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav, his wife Dimple, and Shiv Sena head Uddhav Thackeray.
The three-day Ambani wedding is the last event in a series of parties the family has hosted since March. The pre-wedding celebrations began in Jamnagar, Gujarat, featuring performances by star Rihanna and top Bollywood celebrities.
