Communal Unrest in Haldwani: In a contrasting development, the outer areas of violence-stricken Haldwani, Uttarakhand, have seen the lifting of the curfew, while Banbhoolpura, where severe violence occurred, continues to be under curfew. The violence erupted following a demolition drive targeting an illegally built madrasa, resulting in the death of six individuals. The authorities have made five arrests, identified 19 individuals, and included 5,000 others in FIRs.
