The 14 tribal districts of the eastern belt of Gujarat i.e. the areas from Ambaji to Umargam were far away from development. There were many villages where there were no schools or no science stream schools.
Chief Minister Narendra Modi has allocated Rs. 1 lakh crore Special Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana launched. The plan emphasized roads, water, electricity, education, health, income and agricultural development. This scheme changed the lives of the tribal community. Today, medical, engineering colleges and universities are functioning in those tribal areas where there were no schools. Every village is connected by paved roads. Electricity has reached every village.
Due to the development of the school, the youth of the tribal community have got new employment opportunities.
Farmers have benefited due to schemes like Wadi Yojana. Special irrigation schemes were implemented in tribal districts to provide irrigation water to farmers.
Chief Minister Narendra Modi ensured that no middleman could interfere with the rights of the poor; For this, Garib Kalyan Melas were started, through which the poor started getting their rights directly in their hands.
Created special scholarship schemes for SC community youth. Summer hostels were built in cities so that the youth could go to the big cities for further studies. Schemes like Saraswati Cycle Sahay Yojana, Kumvarabainum Mameru Yojana for girls were launched. A special “Sagarkhedu Sarvangi Vikas Yojana” was created for the development of coastal areas of Gujarat. Due to this scheme, the infrastructure in the coastal area has increased.
